Wedding trend : western, rustic and country weddings

1 February 2015

I announced a few months ago on the blog that Capelio had the opportunity to participate in a photoshoot in Alberta, organized by the wedding planner of Always Alexandra’s weddings. I have received the pictures and let me tell you – the result is breath-taking!

In fact, you may remember that the Anna Alexandra was created especially for this photoshoot!

One of the main trends in 2014 was the rustic weddings: how many times have we seen on blogs like Style Me Pretty or on Pinterest those weddings, with tons of mason jars and a rustic decor? Inspired by this trend, Alexandra wanted to use it but also to add a touch of originality. The result? A country-inspired wedding!

The setting

The decor is the key element to create the ambiance of any wedding. The Rivercross Ranch in Calgary, Alberta, was the perfect place for a country-style wedding. The venue receives events of all kinds, has a rustic feel to it with walls and furniture made almost all of wood. And what about that chandelier!

Colorful flowers have been used to create a festive setting, creating a joyful spirit for the occasion.

The bride

The star of any wedding is, of course, the bride! The beautiful bride of our photoshoot wore a lovely sleek dress ivory lace. You can’t really see her Capelio on these photos, but do not worry, you’ll see the headpiece very well below!

The ceremony

The vast majority of brides and grooms to be wish to have a perfect weather on their wedding day so they can get married outdoors. And it’s easy to understand why when you see this amazing blue sky!

And yes, Alexandra thought for the wedding, the guests would sit on haystacks! A very original idea which really uses the theme of this wedding to its full potential!

Romantic, isn’t it?

The pictures

Who says wedding says … wedding photos, of course! Again, the Rivercross Ranch was perfect for creating beautiful photos in a natural country setting.

There it is! The first Anna Alexandra, crafted especially for this photo shoot! Alexandra wanted a hair accessory for the bride that was both stylish yet discreet, and one that would complement nicely the lace ivory wedding gown. I liked the result so much, I could not help but add it to the collection of 2015 Capelio and wear it on several occasions, as this fascinator is so versatile, it’s very easy to wear for a special occasion and even every day!

The day after

More and more couples organize a breakfast or brunch the day after the wedding to eat with their guests. A good idea if you want to prolong the pleasure, and chat with your guests about their favorite moments of the ceremony and the reception. The Rivercross Ranch has also various rooms where you can organize something for the day after!
