Wedding trend : Rustic chic weddings

17 December 2016
/ / /

Last week you saw the amazing pictures of our previous photoshoot for a vintage rustic wedding, which is an original twost on this ultra-popular and much-used concept. A vintage and a rustic vibes go easily together so to inspire you even more, what do you think of a rustic ambiance paired with… a chic atmoshpere?

Most of the time  we would not think of pairing these two themes together, and yet : Mélanie did it splendidly well for our photoshoot, mixing the talent of the many talented wedding professionals (see the list of everyone involved after the photos) and the result is amazing! After all a wedding, like a couple, is the amalgam of many different influences, compromises and tastes: what better way to demonstrate it than an environment in an urban and kitsch restaurant, with a chic and elegant wedding decoration?

.

The look of the bride

The bride wore a dress of a Quebec designer whom I particularly like, Sonia P. Mélanie styled the wedding gown with our Simplicity bridal veil on comb. The veil brought a traditional and high-end vibe, while the dress offered a touch that was both original and friendly without losing any of its elegance. Perfect for our theme!

Wedding trend : Rustic vintage weddings

10 December 2016

Here’s an early Christmas present : the gorgeous pictures of the wedding photoshoot that took place few weeks earlier! The pictures arebreath-taking and I’m sure they will inspire you for your wedding! With all the rustic weddings we see on Pinterest, wedding blogs and the likes, it feels like there’s nothing original about it. And true, we’ve seen so many mason jars adapted in every way possible for that particular wedding theme, but looking at those pictures will definetely convince you a small wedding with a DIY-feel has a lot of character!

Indeed the first ambiance of the wedding photoshoot we did had a rustic ring to it, but there was also a very strong vintage vibe. It worked well with the Batinse, the restaurant where the photoshoot took place. It shows how even with a small, simple venue it’s still possible to create a breathtaking atmosphere for your wedding. Melanie Vallerand was the one who coordinated the whole thing – you can see all the talented professionals who made this possible right after the pictures!

The bridal look

I love how the wedding dress come from a regular women’s fashion store : not only is it gorgeous but it would be also easy to wear it after the wedding. To go with this bridal dress, we paired our Anastasia birdcage veil, made with a lace piece on a comb with an ivory veil. It was perfect to create a look that was both timeless and romantic. Also just like the dress, you can wear it afterwards simply by cutting or folding the veil!

Wedding trend : western, rustic and country weddings

1 February 2015
/ / /

I announced a few months ago on the blog that Capelio had the opportunity to participate in a photoshoot in Alberta, organized by the wedding planner of Always Alexandra’s weddings. I have received the pictures and let me tell you – the result is breath-taking!

In fact, you may remember that the Anna Alexandra was created especially for this photoshoot!

One of the main trends in 2014 was the rustic weddings: how many times have we seen on blogs like Style Me Pretty or on Pinterest those weddings, with tons of mason jars and a rustic decor? Inspired by this trend, Alexandra wanted to use it but also to add a touch of originality. The result? A country-inspired wedding!

The setting

The decor is the key element to create the ambiance of any wedding. The Rivercross Ranch in Calgary, Alberta, was the perfect place for a country-style wedding. The venue receives events of all kinds, has a rustic feel to it with walls and furniture made almost all of wood. And what about that chandelier!
