Photoshoot coming soon!

8 April 2017
/ / /

Phew, between the wedding season (and the orders for bridal accessories!) upon us and preparing for the launch of Capelio’s 2017 fashion collection Murder Mystery, there is less time to update the blog! I still wanted to write a post to tell you about the photoshoot of last Sunday with the photographer Cathy Lessard, makeup artist & hairdresser Camille Savoie and our model, the beautiful Andréanne.

Those who follow Capelio on Facebook and/or Instagram will remember that recently we were looking for a model to participate in this project: we selected Andréanne and the photoshoot unfolded in an ambiance of fun and laughter! The idea behind this photoshoot was to show how it is possible to wear an accessory several different ways and with several different looks. Camille did a great job and I can’t wait to show you the pictures!

The result will be the subject of an article on Capelio’s blog that will show how you can completely change your look with different accessories, make-up and hairstyles – also, I think it may inspire more than one bride on how to wear your wedding hair accessory after the wedding day!

For now, I leave you with few behind the scenes pictures!

Yesterday we made the photoshoot for Capelio’s next fashion collection!

To organize a photoshoot for a new collection is always tedious: you want to surround yourself with the best people who understand your vision and who you can trust, you want to create an atmosphere that reflects the artistic direction of the collection and of course, you want to create breathtaking  photos that will inspire your clients. The process often involves many questiones you ask yourself, with a lot of stress and emotions, especially when you’re a perfectionist. In fact, a designer recently told me that just before her own photoshoot for her new collection, she felt none of her clothes were up to what she had envisonned because of the stress. So it’s not just me then!

But in the end everything went well, largely thanks to the talented people involved who all did a masterful job. So it’s really important for me to thank them properly here :

Angela Baughman and Olivia Eadie of Castle Coiffure;

Simon Trudeau, filmmaker;

Yvon Latulippe, photographer;

Camille Lavoie, makeup;

The models Audrey, Rebekah, Emilie and Charo;

Manon Fortin of the Morrin Center;

And finally Sonia Plourde, designer, for lending us her amazing clothes!

I thank them all from the heart for their incredible commitment, their immense talent and their great cherfulness! Not only did we all worked together to make beautiful photos, the day was also incredibly fun!

The wait until May 2017, when the collection will be launched, will be difficult… But you’ll get a chance to see few previews here and there on our Facebook page, as well as a special Instagram account created especially for the collection : @murdermysterycollection Make sure you also subscribed to our newsletter so you don’t miss anything :

Here is a picture behind the scene taken at the end of the session:

Wedding trend : western, rustic and country weddings

1 February 2015

I announced a few months ago on the blog that Capelio had the opportunity to participate in a photoshoot in Alberta, organized by the wedding planner of Always Alexandra’s weddings. I have received the pictures and let me tell you – the result is breath-taking!

In fact, you may remember that the Anna Alexandra was created especially for this photoshoot!

One of the main trends in 2014 was the rustic weddings: how many times have we seen on blogs like Style Me Pretty or on Pinterest those weddings, with tons of mason jars and a rustic decor? Inspired by this trend, Alexandra wanted to use it but also to add a touch of originality. The result? A country-inspired wedding!

The setting

The decor is the key element to create the ambiance of any wedding. The Rivercross Ranch in Calgary, Alberta, was the perfect place for a country-style wedding. The venue receives events of all kinds, has a rustic feel to it with walls and furniture made almost all of wood. And what about that chandelier!
